Nice article in the Paris Review Daily with the man Walter Murch in conversation with artist Josh Melnick. It refers a lot to that must read book ‘In The Blink Of An Eye‘.

‘Very frequently, more frequently than I would have thought, the point that I decided to cut was the point that Hackman blinked’.

‘Ninety-nine percent of the time we’re dealing with somebody, we’re looking at their eyes’.

‘If you want to freak your cat out, stare at your cat. If you want to reassure your cat, stare at your cat, then very deliberately and very slowly blink’.

Just off to reassure the cat.
